Epson USB Evaluation Board M-G32EV041

Epson USB Evaluation Board M-G32EV041

Evaluation boardUSB · PCUSB-CUART

The quickest way from an Epson PDG IMU to live data on your PC: plug the sensor onto the board, connect USB-C and start logging.

The board converts the IMU's UART to USB and is powered by the PC, so no extra supply is needed. With the Epson Sensing System Software you see the data as graphs, change sample rate and filters and save the measurements to a file.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which USB cable do I need?

A USB Type-A to Type-C data cable. Type-C to Type-C cables and charge-only cables are not supported.

Can I use it with an accelerometer?

Yes, together with the relay board M-G32EV051 for the M-A352AD and M-A342VD. The relay board M-G32EV051 is available separately.

Can I read the data with my own code?

Yes. The board appears as a serial port, so the open-source Python library and the Linux C drivers for UART work directly.

Which software do I need?

Epson provides the Epson Sensing System Software free of charge after registration. It shows the sensor data as graphs and logs it to a file. For your own code, the open-source drivers for Linux, ROS/ROS 2, Python, MATLAB and Arduino are listed in our downloads.

Is the sensor included?

No. The evaluation boards connect a sensor you already have or order separately. We are happy to put together a matching set of board and sensor.

Can I borrow a kit instead of buying it?

Yes. For qualified projects we lend evaluation kits free of charge, so you can test in your own system before you decide.
