Detect wear before it becomes downtime

Predictive maintenance uses continuous vibration measurement to recognise imbalance, misalignment, bearing wear and loose components early. Instead of fixed service intervals or unplanned stops, maintenance is scheduled when the data shows it is needed.

AMCORIS supplies Epson vibration sensors and accelerometers and supports you from sensor selection and evaluation to integration into your monitoring system.

QUICK ANSWER

Vibration sensor or accelerometer?

Machine vibration severity is commonly assessed as RMS vibration velocity in the 10–1000 Hz band (ISO 20816). The Epson M-A342VD10 and M-A542VR10 vibration sensors output velocity and displacement directly as raw, RMS and peak-to-peak values, so the host does not need to integrate acceleration data. For low-frequency structural vibration or when your system processes raw acceleration itself, a low-noise accelerometer such as the M-A352AD10 (0.2 µg/√Hz) is the better choice.

FROM DATA TO DECISION

How vibration monitoring prevents unplanned stops

Most mechanical faults change the vibration signature of a machine long before it fails. Continuous monitoring makes these changes visible, so worn bearings, imbalance or loose mountings are found during operation instead of after a breakdown.

1

Measure

Three-axis vibration at the bearing housing, gearbox or drive.

2

Process

Velocity and displacement as RMS and peak-to-peak values, calculated in the sensor.

3

Trend

Compare against baselines and limits to see changes over weeks and months.

4

Act

Plan maintenance when the trend shows it, not by the calendar.

SENSOR SELECTION

Which Epson sensor for which monitoring task

All sensors measure three axes with a digital interface. Vibration sensors deliver ready-to-use velocity and displacement values; accelerometers deliver raw acceleration for your own signal processing.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Your question is not listed?

Ask our engineers →

QWhat do Epson vibration sensors output?

Velocity (10–1000 Hz) and displacement (1–100 Hz) on three axes, as raw values, RMS or peak-to-peak.

QVibration sensor or accelerometer?

Choose a vibration sensor for standard condition values directly from the sensor. Choose an accelerometer such as the M-A352AD10 for raw data, your own FFT analysis or very low frequencies.

QWhich interface should I choose?

UART/SPI for compact integration into machines and gateways, RS-422 with IP67 for long cables and harsh environments.

QCan I test the sensors before ordering?

Yes. Request an Epson evaluation kit from AMCORIS. The M-A352AD10 can also be ordered directly in our online shop.
